Upcoming Summer 2025 Events in the San Diego Area
--------------------------------------------------------------
Conscious Communication
Date: May 5-June 30, 2025. 8 Monday evenings. Zoom meeting
Time: 7 - 9 pm (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time - Los Angeles
Location: Zoom Online

Contact: Ron Punit Auerbacher at punit_92103@yahoo.com

Fee: By donation

Description: Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is an awareness practice of attending to the way we use language, both in speaking and listening, and the meaning we make of what others do or say, especially when they express blame, pain and anger. Becoming fluent in NVC involves learning to connect to the deep longings and values that lie within our own and others' words, thoughts, and actions, as well as learning what core beliefs and habits of behavior and speech impede connection. As we learn to translate our own & others' judgments, blame & criticism into unmet needs, we aspire to develop more choice and compassion, instead of blaming others for the strategies they might use to express distress.

This class includes not only awareness practices from NVC, but also from the teacher's experience of mindfulness & zen practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Byron Katie, the Enneagram and more. For example, Mindfulness practices are an experiential tool to train ourselves to pay attention to what is actually occurring, as opposed to being yanked around by our judgments and fears, thereby deepening the cognitive tools of NVC.

This is an 8 week class, not a drop-in practice group. Enrollment will close after the first 2 classes.

No previous experience is required.

Please purchase a copy of "Nonviolent Communication" by Marshall Rosenberg or (for more in depth learning) "Say What You Mean" by Oren Sofer.
